Sonnenhaus takes advantage of its unusually shaped site, wrapping around a dynamic, light-filled courtyard. Acting as the heart of the home, this courtyard creates a gathering space for family and friends to share stories, create memories, reflect and entertain. Running close to the site boundaries, the home’s layout, strategically placed openings, and landscaping foster a private and intimate sanctuary. Large openings and continuation of materials beyond the internal boundaries blur the lines between inside and outside, creating one large outdoor living room.
