Morton’s Steakhouse, the signature dining venue at the Desert Diamond Casino in Glendale, combines upscale elegance with a strong connection to the surrounding desert environment. The architects, Hnedak Bobo Group and JSJ Corporation, aimed to create a façade that reflects sophistication while grounding the building in natural textures and tones inspired by the Sonoran Desert.

Knotwood aluminum battens, finished in Spotted Gum, were selected for Morton’s exterior to achieve the warmth and richness of natural timber without compromising durability. The system adds visual depth, texture, and a sense of refinement, complementing the restaurant’s upscale identity while remaining fully integrated with the casino’s broader architectural palette.

The choice of Knotwood was particularly effective for the desert climate. Its aluminum construction withstands extreme heat, UV exposure, and dryness, ensuring the wood-like appearance remains consistent over time. Lightweight and efficient to install, the system also allowed for a smooth construction process, maintaining quality and aesthetic precision at scale.

By using Knotwood, Morton’s Steakhouse achieves a striking combination of timber warmth and long-lasting performance, reinforcing its role as a prominent and inviting feature of the Desert Diamond Casino complex.
