Aluminum Geoline Geometric Screens

Features

Overview

Geoline is Knotwood's aluminum geometric screen channel system. Genuine Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid profiles slide into a U-channel frame, alternated with spacers for even, consistent intervals, giving privacy screens, fencing, gates and balustrades a bold, architectural finish that's simple to install.

Channel

The U-channel fixes top and bottom first, sized to the profile width, then each geometric profile slides in and is fixed to the channel with a spacer placed alongside to hold the interval. Repeat down the run, then close any open slots or ends with matching infills.

FAQs

What is the Knotwood Geoline system?

Geoline is Knotwood’s geometric-profile aluminum screen system, a channel-and-spacer frame that holds genuine Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid profiles for privacy screens, fencing, gates and balustrades.

What geometric profile shapes and sizes does Geoline use?

Geoline’s geometric profiles come in three shapes: Square (2″ x 2″, 2 9/16″ x 2 9/16″, 4″ x 4″), Rectangle (2″ x 1″, 4″ x 2″) and Trapezoid (2″ x 2″, 4″ x 2″).

Can different profile shapes be combined within a single Geoline frame?

Yes. The Channel and Fence configurations both support mixing Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid profiles within the same run, alternated with spacers to hold consistent intervals. For project-specific combinations, contact Knotwood’s technical team to confirm compatibility.

Can Geoline panels be repositioned within a sliding track or wheeled layout?

The Geoline Sliding Gate runs open and closed along a fixed bottom track, with a top roller bracket and guide stops holding alignment through the travel. It suits pedestrian and vehicle access points within a fence or boundary line. Fixed screens and fence panels are not designed to be repositioned once installed, because each profile is fixed into the channel with spacers setting the intervals.

What applications suit the Geoline system?

Geoline suits privacy screens and feature walls with a geometric, design-forward look, fencing and boundary treatments, pedestrian and sliding gates and balustrades, all using the same channel-and-spacer framing method. It works for both trade and homeowner projects where the screen or boundary element is expected to contribute to the overall design as well as its primary function.

Does Geoline provide privacy as well as a design feature?

Yes. How much privacy a screen delivers depends on the profile shape, the spacing between profiles and the angle it is viewed from. Trapezoid profiles in particular give a different result depending on which side you approach from, which is why they are often specified where privacy is wanted in one direction and airflow or outlook in the other. Send us your layout and we will help you work out the spacing that suits the site.

How does Geoline compare with Geofix and Stand Up Battens?

All three share the same aluminum construction, concealed fixings and architectural-grade finishes. Geoline is distinguished by its geometric profile and channel-and-spacer framing, chosen for its design-forward, contemporary look across screens, fencing, gates and balustrades. Geofix is the structural system in the range, engineered for load-bearing fencing, gates and facade screening. Stand-Up Battens create a vertical linear screen pattern suited to privacy screens and boundary fencing.

Can Geoline be used for fencing, gates and balustrades as well as facade screening?

The system is designed and tested against AAMA 1402, ASTM E330 and ASCE 7 for structural design and wind loading, and the extrusions are produced to ASTM B221. Because loading varies with span, height and site exposure, engineering specifications are available for the specific extrusion being used. Contact our team with the project details and we will confirm the design capacity for the configuration you are specifying.

Are Geoline screens fire rated for high-risk zones?

Geoline is manufactured from 6063 T6 extruded aluminum and is tested to ASTM E84, ASTM E136 and CAN/ULC-S114, achieving a Class A result for surface burning characteristics. Requirements for a specific site are set by the adopted building code in that jurisdiction, published by the International Code Council. Contact our team for the relevant test documentation when a project has a defined fire requirement.

What material is Geoline made from?

Manufactured from 6063 T6 extruded aluminum, matching the material specification confirmed elsewhere in Knotwood’s US range.

What structural standards does Geoline meet?

Geoline is designed and tested against AAMA 1402, ASTM E330 and ASCE 7 for structural design and wind loading, and the extrusions are produced to ASTM B221. Because loading varies with span, height and site exposure, engineering specifications are available for the specific extrusion being used. Contact our team with the project details and we will confirm the design capacity for the configuration you are specifying.

Is BIM content available for the Knotwood Geoline system?

Yes. DWG files are available for individual profiles from the Profiles section on this page, and BIM, Revit and CAD content for the Knotwood range is available from our resources page. If you need a file for a profile that is not listed, contact our team and we will get it to you.

How are fixings concealed in the Geoline system?

Across every configuration, profiles and slats fix into a U-channel frame with fixing hardware sitting behind or within the channel rather than on the visible face. Spacers between each profile also help conceal the fixing points, producing a clean finish whether the run is a fixed screen, fence, gate or balustrade.

What customization options are available for Geoline panels?

Panels can be customized across spacing, varying the gap between profiles to adjust privacy and ventilation, sequencing, mixing Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid shapes within the same run, and finish. See our finishes page for the current range of sublimated wood grain aluminum and solid powder coated options.
