American Made: Why Knotwood's Domestic Manufacturing Matters

When you specify or install Knotwood®, you’re not just choosing premium modular aluminum systems. You’re choosing a product that’s designed, fabricated, and finished right here in the United States, in our Phoenix, Arizona facility, from start to finish. In a building industry where “Made in USA” claims are often more marketing than reality, we think that distinction deserves more than a footnote.

Knotwood

BUILT IN PHOENIX, NOT JUST ASSEMBLED HERE

Knotwood is 100% American manufactured. Our aluminum is sourced right here in North America, and every aluminum profile is produced at our Phoenix facility.

That’s a meaningful difference from competitors who import raw material or finished profiles and simply distribute them domestically. Our entire process, from extrusion to our proprietary sublimation finishing, happens under one roof in Phoenix. As an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer and accredited AkzoNobel and Dulux powder coater, we hold that process to the same rigorous standard our customers expect from every Knotwood product.

Knotwood

CERTIFIED COMPLIANT WITH BUILD AMERICAN, BUY AMERICA

For architects, contractors, and agencies working on public infrastructure projects, domestic manufacturing isn’t just a preference. It’s often a requirement. Knotwood US has self-certified compliance with Public Law 117-58, Sections 70911–70917, the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

That means our products are manufactured in the United States with materials sourced and fabricated domestically, and project-specific compliance documentation is available on request. If your next project needs to meet BABA requirements, Knotwood is built to specify with confidence.

Knotwood

A SUPPLY CHAIN YOU CAN ACTUALLY RELY ON

Global supply chains have taught the building industry some hard lessons over the past few years: shipping delays, price volatility, and tariffs that can upend a project budget overnight. Manufacturing in Phoenix means we’re largely insulated from those pressures. No overseas freight schedules to track, no surprise tariff increases to absorb, and no guessing games on lead times.

For our partners, that translates to consistent pricing and dependable delivery, the kind of reliability that lets you commit to a project timeline and actually keep it.

Knotwood

AMERICAN CRAFTMANSHIP, GLOBAL STANDARDS

None of this comes at the expense of quality or design. Knotwood’s huge range of wood-grain finishes are backed by fully recyclable aluminum and VOC-free, lead-free coatings. It’s the same performance and aesthetic our customers around the world have come to expect, now built on American soil, under American standards.

Over the past few years, Knotwood USA has worked hard to bring all of our manufacturing in-house, culminating in our move to become the direct supplier for the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It’s a step that puts us even closer to the architects, builders, and distributors we serve, with more control over quality, service, and the domestic manufacturing story we’re proud to tell.

Knotwood

Why It Matters

“American Made” can be an overused phrase. For Knotwood, it’s a fact you can verify: a Phoenix, Arizona facility, a certified domestic supply chain, and a finished product that meets both BABA compliance and the highest standards of architectural design.

It’s not wood, it’s aluminum. When you choose Knotwood®, you’re choosing a product built by American hands, to American standards, for the projects shaping American skylines.
