Geoline Aluminium Screens

Features

Overview

Geoline holds genuine Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid profiles in a U-channel frame, alternated with spacers that set an even interval down the run. Because the channel does the framing, the same method covers a fixed screen, a fence, a gate or a balustrade, and profiles can be mixed within a single frame to break up the rhythm.

FAQs

What is the Knotwood Geoline system?

Geoline is Knotwood’s geometric-profile aluminium screen system, a channel-and-spacer frame that holds genuine Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid profiles for privacy screens, fencing, gates and balustrades.

What geometric profile shapes and sizes does Geoline use?

Geoline’s geometric profiles come in three shapes: Square in 50 x 50mm, 65 x 65mm and 100 x 100mm, Rectangle in 50 x 25mm and 100 x 50mm, and Trapezoid in 50 x 50mm and 100 x 50mm.

Can different profile shapes be combined within a single Geoline frame?

Yes. The Channel and Fence configurations both support mixing Square, Rectangle and Trapezoid profiles within the same run, alternated with spacers to hold consistent intervals. For project-specific combinations, contact Knotwood’s technical team or download the BIM content to confirm compatibility.

What applications suit the Geoline system?

Geoline suits privacy screens and feature walls with a geometric, design-forward look, fencing and boundary treatments, pedestrian and sliding gates, and balustrades, all using the same channel-and-spacer framing method. It works for trade and homeowner projects where the screen or boundary element is expected to contribute to the overall design as well as its primary function.

Can Geoline be used for fencing, gates and balustrades as well as screening?

Yes. Geoline extends across five confirmed configurations: Channel for fixed screens, Fence, Pedestrian Gate, Sliding Gate and Balustrade, each with its own installation guide.

How does the Geoline pedestrian gate work?

The gate frame is assembled standalone before it goes up. One side plus the top and bottom close with a corner stake, slats slide in alternating with spacers, then the remaining side locks the frame together. It uses the same profiles and spacers as a fixed Geoline screen, so a gate can be made to disappear into a fence line.

How does the Geoline sliding gate work?

The sliding gate is also assembled standalone, then slides open and closed along a fixed track. It suits pedestrian and vehicle access points within a fence or boundary line, and because it uses the same profiles as the fence either side of it, the opening reads as part of the boundary rather than an interruption to it.

Does Geoline provide privacy as well as being a design feature?

Yes. How much privacy depends on profile orientation, spacing and viewing angle. Spacer sizes of 8mm, 16mm and 24mm are available on the Balustrade configuration for a range of coverage options.

How are fixings concealed in the Geoline system?

Across every configuration, profiles and slats fix into a U-channel frame with the fixing hardware sitting behind or within the channel rather than on the visible face. Spacers between each profile also help conceal the fixing points, producing a clean finish whether the run is a fixed screen, fence, gate or balustrade.

What material is Geoline made from?

Geoline is manufactured from 6063 T6 extruded aluminium, with stainless steel fasteners in 304 or 316 grade, or hot-dip galvanised.

How does Geoline compare with Geofix and Stand-Up Battens?

All three share the same aluminium construction, concealed fixings and architectural-grade finishes. Geoline is distinguished by its geometric profiles and channel-and-spacer framing, chosen for a design-forward look across screens, fencing, gates and balustrades. Geofix is the structural system in the range, engineered for load-bearing fencing, gates and facade screening. Stand-Up Battens create a vertical linear screen pattern suited to privacy screens and boundary fencing.

How is Geoline maintained?

Periodic washing with water and a pH neutral detergent. No painting, sealing or specialist treatments.

What is the reaction to fire classification of Geoline?

Geoline profiles are extruded aluminium, classified A2-s1,d0 to BS EN 13501-1. Under Approved Document B, A2-s1,d0 is a material of limited combustibility, which is the classification required for external wall construction on relevant buildings under Regulation 7(2). Where a screen forms part of a facade or a balcony rather than a garden boundary, that classification is what a specifier will need. Contact our team with the building details and we will provide the classification report reference.
