What batten profiles are available in the UK?

Knotwood UK offers Clip Battens and Flip Battens. Clip Battens include 25mm and 50mm suites, slimline profiles, and wide profiles with a two-part concealed fixing system. Flip Battens are universal profiles that connect to form hollow box sections, ranging from 38x16mm to 200x25mm. All profiles feature concealed fixings for a seamless finish.

How are Clip Battens installed?

Clip Battens use a two-part system. Fix the male bracket to the substrate, then clip the batten profile onto the bracket until you hear a click. All fixings are concealed. Batten spacers (25mm or 50mm) allow you to adjust spacing between profiles for custom designs.

How are Flip Battens installed?

Flip Battens are universal profiles that flip and connect onto themselves to form a rectangular hollow box section. Secure one half to the substrate, position the second half with outer upstands facing each other, angle one side into place, and press firmly until the flip profiles click together. End caps are available for exposed ends.

What maintenance do aluminium battens require?

Knotwood battens require minimal maintenance. To remove dirt or grime, wipe down with a sponge or soft-bristle brush using mild detergent (pH 6-7, such as car detergent), then rinse with water before it dries to avoid streaking. Avoid stiff brushes or abrasive cleaners that may scratch the finish.
