Our Story.

Knotwood began on the Gold Coast in 2007 with a simple goal: to deliver the beauty of timber without the maintenance. We started as a specialist powder coating service focused on premium wood grain finishes for aluminium. But it didn’t stop there.

Founders Darren Galway and Alan Divall saw a gap in the market, architectural systems that didn’t require welding, had concealed fixings, and were easy to install. The solution? Combine stunning design with practical innovation. That’s how Knotwood was born.

In 2021, Michael Saba joined Darren as a business partner, bringing a strong commitment to people, principles, and the planet. A new chapter, same family spirit – his involvement has helped Knotwood stay true to its family-run roots while embracing sustainable design.
