Fire Remediation at Horsham Gates

Balancing fire safety compliance with architectural intent is an increasingly critical challenge in today’s built environment. The Horsham Gates project demonstrates how a considered material choice can successfully deliver both.

As part of a wider fire remediation programme, the building’s original cladding system was removed and replaced to meet current safety standards. The objective was clear: achieve full compliance without compromising the visual character of the façade.

Knotwood aluminium cladding was selected as the ideal solution.

Using our 150mm aluminium cladding boards in a Western Red Cedar finish, the new façade replicates the natural warmth and grain of timber while providing a non-combustible, fire-rated alternative. This ensures the building aligns with modern fire safety requirements while significantly reducing ongoing maintenance demands.

Beyond compliance, the transformation has elevated the overall appearance of Horsham Gates, delivering a clean, contemporary façade that remains sympathetic to natural material aesthetics.
