Sunshine Coast City Hall is a striking civic landmark in Maroochydore, designed by Cottee Parker in collaboration with Comuniti. Inspired by the region’s distinctive landscape, the building combines a strong contemporary form with materials that connect it to its subtropical surroundings.

Knotwood’s Silver Wattle finish was selected for the building’s exterior columns and soffits, bringing the warmth and texture of timber into the architectural design without compromising durability or performance.

The project features Knotwood’s 150mm Interlocking Boards and 50 × 25mm Clip Battens, creating a refined timber-look finish across key areas of the façade. The combination provides visual warmth while contributing to the building’s shading and external screening.

Designed for the demands of the Australian climate, Knotwood’s aluminium system delivers a durable, low-maintenance alternative to natural timber, making it well suited to a major public building on the Sunshine Coast.
