Rickaby House.

Framed by mature trees and approached by a sweeping circular driveway, Rickaby House embraces the quiet grandeur of its estate-like setting. Rather than competing with the landscape, the architecture settles comfortably into it by using textured stone and a restrained material palette. Curved garden beds, sculptural planting and generous open space soften the home’s strong geometry, while preserving the character of the established grounds and allowing the existing trees to remain the focal point. The result is a home that feels both expansive and deeply connected to its surroundings.

Knotwood’s 150mm boards in Silver Wattle were used for this renovation to wrap the entrance in a soft timber hue, creating the perfect canvas for the mature Australian grass trees. The soft, earthy tone introduces texture without overpowering the architecture. Crafted from aluminium, the boards deliver the authentic appearance of timber with the durability and low maintenance modern family homes demand, ensuring the façade will continue to look at home amongst the gardens for years to come.
