How does the Knotwood Track Batten system work?

The Track Batten system uses a hidden aluminium track (KEBT) fixed to the wall substructure. Independent Batten Track Clips are slid into the track via an octagonal hanging tab and positioned at the desired spacing before being locked with a screw through a pre-drilled centre hole. Battens are then pressed onto the clips until a click confirms engagement. The track conceals fixings and supports acoustic backing behind the batten face.

The Track Batten system is the only Knotwood interior wall system specifically engineered to support acoustic backing material within the track assembly, behind the batten face. Can the Knotwood Track Batten system be used for suspended ceiling applications?

Yes. The Track Batten system includes a suspended ceiling track variant (KEBTS) designed to integrate with proprietary third-party suspended ceiling grid systems using a locking key mechanism. The KEBTS track is cut to suit the ceiling grid length, and battens are clipped onto track clips in the same way as the wall-fixed version. This makes the Track Batten system suitable for both wall and ceiling applications in commercial fit-outs.

Can Knotwood Track Battens be installed horizontally, vertically, or diagonally?

Yes. The Track Batten system supports horizontal, vertical, and diagonal batten installation orientations. This is made possible by the adjustable track and clip configuration, which allows the track to be fixed in any direction on the wall surface. Diagonal and horizontal layouts are popular in contemporary commercial interiors and residential feature wall applications.

Can Knotwood Track Battens be fixed directly to masonry or concrete walls?

Yes. The Track Batten system is compatible with masonry and concrete substructures in addition to top hat sections, metal hollow sections, and timber framing. This makes it suitable for commercial renovation projects on concrete tilt-up panels, brick, or blockwork walls where a traditional timber or steel frame substructure is not present. What wall lengths can the Knotwood Track Batten system cover?
