In 2007, Darren Galway and his son Brendan began a powder coating business specialising in high-quality finishes for architectural and residential applications. What started as a surface finish quickly revealed a larger opportunity. The industry needed aluminium systems that were easy to assemble, used concealed fixings and required no welding or complex installation.

In response, they began designing and manufacturing their own aluminium profiles. By combining these innovative systems with advanced woodgrain sublimation and architectural-grade finishes, Knotwood was created.
