At Knotwood, we love a challenge – and the Gold Coast SUNS gave us a good one. When they launched their new logo, they needed a physical version that would reflect the bold, fresh direction of the brand. Something that could stand proud in The Lounge at People First Stadium. Something that felt premium, strong, and built to last. We were immediately on board.

But as we dug into the design, we realised this wasn’t going to be a straightforward job. The custom ‘SUNS’ font, in particular, wasn’t something that could be laser-cut from a single piece of material. It was too complex, too delicate in parts – and that’s exactly what made it exciting for us.

Rather than compromising on the design, our team went back to the drawing board to figure out how to make it work. We engineered a custom solution that stayed completely true to the original logo while giving it the structural integrity needed for a long-lasting, high-impact finish. As always, we used our signature powder-coated aluminium for that sleek, durable look.

The end result is now proudly installed in the lounge at People First Stadium, where it greets fans and guests with a bold statement: this is SUNS territory.

For us, it’s more than just signage – it’s a showcase of what’s possible when design, precision, and craftsmanship come together.
